The Sterling Senior Center is located at 130 Broadway in Sterling. Serving the Sterling community since 1983, it is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The center coordinates daily luncheons (view monthly lunch menu), birthday parties, holiday parties and home-delivered meals. An outreach of Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging, it also provides transportation, telephone reassurance, information and referrals for home healthcare, housekeeping and handyman services, and assistance for legal and financial needs. Nutrition and health information are available as well as occasional clinics and flu shots. Contact Doris Behrens, Manager at (402) 866-2050 for information about volunteer opportunities. The Deer Creek Sodbusters is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation of America's agricultural heritage. They have sponsored an annual antique tractor and machinery show since 1983 which attracts about 2,000 visitors to the area. They also participate in area town picnics, parades, and county fairs. They are always looking for new members. If you are looking for fun fellowship and an opportunity to contribute to the preservation of our agricultural heritage, you are welcome to join.
